Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-07-20

These terms govern your use of the Halvy mobile and web apps and the halvyapp.com website (collectively, the “Service”), operated by Alessandro Nicoli, Switzerland (“Operator”, “we”). By using the Service you agree to these terms.

1. What the Service does

Halvy helps groups split shared expenses. It is a record-keeping and calculation tool. It does not move money, process payments between users, or provide financial, tax, or legal advice.

2. Account

You need an account to use the Service. You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at info@halvyapp.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Egregious cases (fraud, abuse) may be terminated without notice.

4. Pricing & Pro upgrade

The base app is free. Halvy Pro is a one-time in-app purchase of €9,99 (or local equivalent) granting access to Pro features for the lifetime of your account.

Purchases are processed by Apple via the App Store and are subject to Apple's payment terms. Receipts, refund requests, and chargebacks are handled by Apple, not by us.

EU 14-day withdrawal

If you're in the EU and you bought Halvy Pro through the App Store, you have 14 days to withdraw from the purchase under EU consumer law, unless you started using the Pro features within that window (in which case you waive the right). Refund requests go through Apple: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions / Purchase History → Report a Problem.

5. Your content

You own the expense data you put into Halvy. You grant us a limited license to host, display, and process it solely to operate the Service (e.g. show the data back to your group members, run the settle-up algorithm, sync across your devices).

You can export your data at any time. If you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days (backups roll off after that).

6. Service availability

We aim for high uptime but the Service is provided “as is.” We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculations are perfectly accurate — always sanity-check totals before settling debts with cash.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by Swiss law, our total liability to you for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (typically €0 or €9,99). We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or lost-profit damages.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or where Swiss law forbids exclusion.

8. Changes to the Service or terms

We may update or modify the Service at any time. We'll give 30 days' notice (in-app or by email) before any material change to these terms. Continued use after the notice means you accept the change. If you don't, delete your account.

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account anytime. We can terminate or suspend accounts that breach these terms. Sections 5–10 survive termination.

10. Governing law & jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Swiss law. Place of jurisdiction is Zürich, Switzerland, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules of your home jurisdiction (EU consumers may also sue in their country of residence).
